Outline
Introduction (what the teacher says to students before the event in individual classrooms):

-
Tell class that soon there will be a COVID-19 info fair and that it will be a really fun way to learn about the virus and the impacts on everyone.
-
Ask the class to talk about what they know about COVID/what it is with their neighbor or their table group, and share with the class.
-
Correct anything if blatantly wrong during the discussion.
At the Event:

-
Provide a brief overview of what COVID-19 is, how it moves, the impacts of it. Stress that if you are sick you should stay home
-
Separate the students into groups that will rotate between stations and have everyone go to their first station.
The stations are as follows:
-
DIY masks/decorate face masks. During this station explain how masks work.
-
Create a do's and don'ts of COVID-19 matching game and have students play it. Then answer any questions they have about this.
-
Do a map activity showing where there is a lot of COVID-19 and explain what makes it worse in some areas. This may be showing cities or policies, but do a brief introduction to this.
-
Brainstorm a list of how to have fun and stay safe during the pandemic. Pass out bookmarks with some of these ideas.
-
Have a hand washing station where the students put their hands under a blue light to see if their washing was effective.

-
After the students conclude their stations. Return to the main room and facilitate a group discussion about what the students learned and how they will apply it in the future.
